Midland Scales have expanded their growing portfolio of scales, balances and weights with their recent partnership with Kern & Sohn GmbH.

Kern are based in Balingen, Southern Germany and have been established over 165 years.  Their large product range includes Industrial Balances, Laboratory Balances, Industrial Scales, Medical Scales and Calibration Test Weights.  They hold ISO9001:2000 and can offer many factory verified EC-type approved scales and balances, such as a Class II balance for weighing Gold and Silver, excellent for Jewellery shops needing to comply with UK law and trading standards requirements.

Kern have their own DKD supervised calibration laboratories, which means they can carry out calibration of measuring instruments and materialization.  DKD calibration certificates issued are the proof of traceability to the national standards as requested by DIN EN ISO9000 and DIN EN ISO/EC 17025 and are internationally valid. This is excellent for businesses using management systems such as ISO9001, QS9000, TS16949, VDA6.1, FDA, GLP and GLM, as these calibration services are independent of the brand.
